Rivers - Progetto RIVA

Rivers“ by german artist Peter Bialobrzeski is a compilation of photographs ranging from as far back as 1996 from the Ganges in India stretching to a reproduction of the famous Ponte Vecchio view in a car garage in Florence taken in early 2020. Bialobrzeski takes the viewer further from the Yangon River in Yangon Myannmar (2016), via the River Elbe in his hometown Hamburg, Germany (2004) to the „Ruhr“ near Hattingen in Germany (2004)and further onwards to the Danube in Budapest, Hungary (2019). Further stops on this journey are: The Aji River, Osaka, Japan, (2015) the Buriganga River in Dhaka, (2019) Bangladesh, the Ganges in Rishikesh, India (1998) and last but not least the mighty Yangtze in Wuhan, China (2017).

Opening

In occasione dell’inaugurazione della mostra, venerdì 3 dicembre 2021 alle ore 17.30 si svolgerà un talk con Peter Bialobrzeski, Martino Marangoni, Presidente della Fondazione Studio Marangoni, Selvaggia Velo, Direttrice del River to River Florence Indian Film Festival, Valentina Gensini, Direttore artistico di MAD.

Dalle ore 18.00 la mostra sarà aperta al pubblico.

 

Alle 20.30 si aprirà la XXI edizione del River to River Florence Indian Film Festival con la proiezione dell’anteprima italiana di RK/Rkay di Rajat Kapoor, presso il Cinema La Compagnia, Via Cavour 50r, Firenze.

Peter Bialobrzeski

Photographer

Peter Bialobrzeski vive e lavora ad Amburgo. Ha studiato fotografia e design alla Folkwangschule di Essen e al London College of Printing. I sui lavori sono stati esposti in Europa, Stati Uniti, Asia, Africa e Australia. Ha vinto numerosi premi tra cui due World Press Photo Award, nel 2003 e nel 2010. Dal 2002 è professore di fotografia alla University of the Arts di Brema, Germania. È rappresentato dalla Laurence Miller Gallery di New York e da LA Galerie di Francoforte. Ad oggi ha... pubblicato più di diciotto libri fotografici, tra cui Neon Tigers (2004), Lost in Transition (2007), Paradise Now (2009), Case Study Homes (2009), The Raw and the Cooked (2011).
