The art system today sees the artist’s residence as a consolidated and constitutive system. Residence is synonymous with mobility, production and research.
Some pioneering experiences are renewed today by proposing new approaches and alternative ways.
How much can residency affect artistic production?
What instruments can be claimed?
How can residencies and artists not only represent a network of insiders but also establish and stimulate important relationships with the territories and communities that host them?

During the international conference hosted by MAD Murate Art District on 28th november 2019, thanks to the participations of national and international guests, we tried to answer these questions.
