Norwegian choreographer Janne-Camilla Lyster is holding a performance workshop for seven dancers in each of the cities Pars, Copenhagen and Florence, creating a local version of the choreographic work Metamorphoses.
Metamorphoses explores how subtle impulses in ourselves and from our surroundings shapes and steer us, evoking new actions and imaginings. The performance makes reference to the classical poetry of Sappho and Ovid’s legendary collection of transformative myths. The first version of the work will premiere in Oslo on September 16th, 2021, as a co-production with Black Box Theater and Ultima.
Instead of going on a conventional tour, the work will be re-created as three autonomous versions in three European cities by local professional dancers through a week-long workshop, resulting in a public performance. These three «Performance workshops» will together form an ecological tour of the project Metamorphoses (2021).
Each workshop will develop a parallel, independent version of the choreographic work, in collaboration with the choreographer.
Metamorphoses is the first part of a choreographic project by Norwegian artist Janne-Camilla Lyster titled Love, polyphonic, extending over three years. The work approaches the concept of “love” as a tool for listening. For more information, please see: https://blackbox.no/nb/2d7eedc5-9609-4ebe-a154-a5a5db63f087/
